A$AP Mob Honour A$AP Yams With Latest Video

Earlier this year, to pay respect to their late friend A$AP Yams one year after his death, the A$AP Mob released a brand new song titled Yamborghini High. To put it simply, the track is lit. It’s got hot rhymes for all your major A$AP Mob players like A$AP RockyA$AP Nast and A$AP Ferg, as well as Juicy J for some added starpower and was debuted live at an A$AP Yams tribute concert a few months back. Now, to give the song it’s complete package, the Mob have released some visuals, once again offering another very fitting tribute to the Mob’s founder.

Taking us on a psychedelic trip of epic proportions, this technicoloured adventure features Rocky wearing a pale pink robe, babes galore and more than a few Lamborghinis for authenticity. Playing with visual effects, the hazy clip gets really tripped out as visuals warp and the grass turns purple, all while the Mob wilds out in honour of their friend. Like being trapped in a vortex, the visually overwhelming piece represents not only A$AP Rocky’s newfound artistic direction, but that of the clothes Yams used to wear – bright, Biggie style jumpers etc, serving as a celebration of Yams’ life.

If you were after more A$AP Yams tributes, or just after more stuff from the Mob, you may be in luck. Rocky himself told Hot 97 recently that this track is taken from a new release called Cozy Tapes. “It’s the Yams album that he was working on before he passed,” Rocky said. “So it’s basically an A$AP collective. Like your Ruff Ryders Volume 1 type, Ryde or Die Vol. 1 or like Diplomatic Immunity… He broke down in his notes and he would tell me who he wants on there. We was about to start working on it.” Whilst there is no confirmation on that, we have our fingers and toes crossed that with the recent release of A$AP Ferg’s album, Always Strive and Prosper, the gates may be open for Cozy Tapes.
