If you read this site on any kind of regular basis, you may have become aware of our love for a grime MC by the name of Stormzy. One of our absolute favourites in the game, he is continuing his rise to total world domination, and appeared on Julie Adenuga‘s Beats 1 show for a catch up.
After deciding that Adenuga is the godmother of Beats 1, and Stormzy is the dark knight, they chatted the success of the MC’s own radio show. Stormzy was recently given his own Beats 1 show, #MERKY, but it has now been announced he will be splitting his showtime with none other than Charli XCX. Charli, who shared a new EP from her new label only two weeks ago, will now also have her own Beats 1 show titled The Candy Shop.
Stormzy, discussing this new and exciting development, said of the popstar, “I feel like I know her because she’s bubbly, she’s a bit mad,” before Adenuga got him to commemorate the news with a freestyle over Charli’s new song, Vroom Vroom.
Fierce as ever, Stormzy once again showed off his incredible freestyle skills, going to town over her beat (after a false start). He has one of the quickest tongues in the game, and once he gets going, there is absolutely no stopping him. Check it out for yourself below:
