Skepta may have properly introduced the world to grime, but Stormzy is quickly becoming one of – if not the – best in the game. With a prolific output, fiery bars, a jovial nature and an ambition that has seen him on a one-way trip to the top, Stormzy is making it his number one priority to make sure everyone knows who he is and what he’s about, and his latest freestyle once again goes to show just how good he really is.
Like they say, there’s no rest for the wicked (or rather, wickedskengman in his case), as the rapper took some time from his trip to Japan where he currently is to film this clip. Wearing his token Adidas tracksuit, he looks perfectly at home, albeit fired up, in Japanese convenience stores and streets spitting his lyrics. Taking aim at everyone from those who threaten him to the BRIT Awards (which have a notable absence of grime MCs, despite the mammoth year the genre had in 2015).
He’s made a name for himself at his refusal to hold back in his tracks, but this one may be the hardest yet. You can hear Stromzy’s hunger in each and every track, and as he continually betters himself with each release, it’s an incredibly exciting time not only for the rapper himself but for anyone who keeps up with his movements.
