It’s 2016, but radio seems to be making one heck of a comeback. Hot on the heels of Future debuting his latest album, EVOL, on the inaugural episode of DJ Khaled‘s Beats 1 radio show, Chance The Rapper has unveiled that he is to be the latest recipient of his own Beats 1 broadcast.
Taking to the airwaves on Pharrell‘s radio offering OTHERtone, Chance revealed that he will be at the helm of his own show, and whilst there is currently no name set in stone, it looks a definite possibility that it will don the ‘World Wide Chicago’ moniker.
Oh yes stay tuned into #OTHERtone big announcement coming #WorldWideChicago https://t.co/WDkw1gFQ1f

Chance joins a rapidly expanding group making their foray into radio, featuring none other the aforementioned Pharrell, Khaled and of course Drizzy Drake himself. Quite the esteemed collection of colleagues.

Forever the advocate for his hometown, the creative mind behind Acid Rap has continued to hold it down for his city despite becoming a global household name. Chance has recently led campaigns to provide winter coats for the homeless in order to brave the harsh Chicago winters, and has been named the Chicagoan of the year in recognition for his ongoing efforts to assist his hometown.
Whilst the content and premise of Chance’s show is not yet known, with the hashtags accompanying the tweets that are following the announcement, it would be a safe bet to assume that Chicago vibes and artists will feature aplenty.
