No doubt feeling that holiday season sentimentality, Hole frontwoman Courtney Love has posted an Instagram picture featuring herself and deceased partner Kurt Cobain, with then-infant daughter Frances.
The image was accompanied by an impassioned open letter addressed to Frances and Kurt. Love expressed her ongoing affection for Cobain, referring to the grunge icon as “the greatest true love I’ve ever experienced in my life.” She also expressed gratitude for her 23 year-old daughter adding, “You gave me the gift that makes life worth living, our incredibly talented, loving, beautiful and gifted daughter Frances Bean Cobain.”
It’s not the first time that Love has used social media to reach out to her former partner. Back in August, she celebrated her daughter’s 23rd birthday with a similar Instagram post and love letter to the late, great Nirvana frontman.
It’s been over a two decades since the Nirvana frontman took his life in 1994. Love has made no secret of her subsequent struggles with substance abuse, troubled romances and ongoing media feuds.
Love debuted a new single Miss Narcissist in May and has been supporting indie pop princess Lana Del Rey on her 2015 Endless Summer Tour of the U.S.
