Kanye’s political influence seems to be growing by the day. Since announcing his bid to run for the presidency of the United States, the chorus of laughter has slowly been growing quieter. Could he be serious?
Perhaps as a form of musical bribery, Kanye treated voters and politicians to an almost hour long set at the Democratic National Committee. What better place to cement his place in the run for POTUS 2020?
The stage was set after Obama gave some tongue-in-cheek advice to “peezy” as he referred to him including “Saying you have a Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy — that’s what’s known as off-message in politics”.
Yeezy treated the crowd to a massive 18-song set, opening with Power before ripping through some of his biggest songs from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and 808s & Heartbreaks before finishing with Good Life. Unfortunately, no new material was revealed, with the most recent song being All Day, which doesn’t bode well for the release of his new album anytime soon. Nonetheless, he had plenty of classics up his sleeve, and for a concert that allegedly cost up to $10 000 to attend, the crowd sure got rowdy.
