Watch Alessia Cara’s homemade videos for her killer EP

YouTube sensation Alessia Cara just keeps on getting better, dropping a series of videos to match her new EP Four Pink Walls.

If you, like me, somehow missed the boat with Alessia Cara, please jump on the boat with me. Born from a world of acoustic covers on YouTube, she came of relatively nowhere to hit the big time with her even bigger debut tune Here. A necessary tribute to introverts at parties who ask themselves, like she does, “Oh God why I am here?”. Not only a hilariously premise for a song, but her quasi-rap style is refreshing and extraordinary.

Now Alessia has released a suite of videos to match her EP in homage to her beginnings, namely YouTube. Shot home-made, they are packed with personality and fun. While not the same cinematic experience as her debut single Here, its wonderful to see her just goofing around with a camera. Plus, the EP is spectacular. Lathered in funk and seriously addictive shades of R&B, there is no weak point. Each song stands on its own, and could each have a strong case for the lead single. The goofy videos are each shot in different ways, from a selfie-stick camera to a fish eye lens. To be honest, some of them are fairly silly such as I’m Yours, which consists of her running away from a poorly moustached man with flowers for the duration of the song. Yet it’s a great tribute to her fans and are great fun.

Get amongst her before she’s a household name. Check out her videos (and hence EP) below:
