Chance The Rapper still putting in work, releases new single ‘Israel (Sparring)’

Chance The Rapper has had a low-key productive 2015. He hasn’t put out much of his own solo work, but he’s featured on tracks by artists ranging from Madonna to Action Bronson (and even uh… Alec Baldwin very briefly). He released a short film earlier this year (an indication of the acting career he hopes to pursue?) as well as collaborative work with Lil B and The Social Experiment.

He’s also about to become a dad for the very first time but that isn’t stopping the creative juices flowing, with today marking the release of a brand new track, Israel (Sparring).

Featuring fellow Chicagoan Noname Gypsy, it’s chill as a cucumber. It’s an almost spoken word flow from both MCs over a relaxed backbeat and beautifully minimalistic production from Cam O’Bi. Chance’s final verse rises to almost a shout but beyond that it’s a very cool and collected number, perfect for the breezy Springtime we’re about to be gifted.
