Jeremih & Soundz Continue Their Winning Combo on “Late Nights Europe”

Jeremih is determined to make sure his fans remember his birthday. Two years ago, on his birthday July 17, the Chicago crooner dropped the Shlohmo-produced No More EP, and this year, he celebrated his 29th birthday with a performance at Pitchfork’s annual music festival in Chicago. Following his performance, Jeremih spoke to USA Today and revealed that he had a new mixtape in the works.

“I was on a European tour for the last 30 days and the best thing about it was creating a new body of work called Late Nights Europe. We did, like, 23 songs,” he said. “We’re probably going to drop it tonight as a gift, not only to myself but to my fans.”

Unlike other rappers, his release dates are mercifully reliable, and this week, he released Late Nights Europe. It features Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, The Game, K Camp, G Herbo and others.

Jeremih dubbed Late Nights Europe a love letter to his European fans. “We named a song after every place we went: Paris, Amsterdam, Czech Republic, Barcelona.”

The mixtape was produced by multi-platinum producer and songwriter Soundz, who worked with Jeremih on the singer’s highly anticipated debut 2015 album Late Nights. It is good to see both of them continuing the existing winning formula.

Late Nights Europe is the perfect birthday present for fans, who will surely now be waiting for Jeremih’s 30th. The only downside to the mixtape was that Jeremih rumoured about the possibility of Chance The Rapper making an appearance: “Ty is definitely on there. Chance — if he says he’s not doing anything tonight, we’ll throw him on there.” Without that little titbit, we wouldn’t have been looking for Chance, who seems to be rumoured for everything at the moment. Chance aside, check out Jeremih’s Late Nights Europe in full below.
