Hip-hop heavyweight Freddie Gibbs is a man that needs no introduction. He is a direct result of the violent streets of his native Gary, Indiana and makes music to reflect his experiences. We haven’t heard much from him since he released the critically acclaimed Piñata last year with Madlib, but now he’s released a brand new album and is planning a string of Australian appearances to go along with it.
With an impressive discography that includes five LPs and a slew of EPs since 2004, Gibbs has made a name for himself for being one of the absolute realest in the international hip-hop scene. He tells it like it is, and matches his storytelling with exceptional rap skills some could only dream about. It’s no wonder than that his recently released record, Shadow Of A Doubt came as one of the most anticipated hip-hop releases in some time.
It was previously announced that he would be joining the stellar Golden Plains 2016 lineup, but now thanks to the legends at Astral People, they’ve convinced him to add a few more shows to his appearance Down Under. It was just a few months ago that he was in the country and sold-out each show, so it will come as no surprise when he does it all again.
