Sinead O’Connor has given her fans quite a scare after posting an emotional suicide note on Facebook. She was said to have been found “safe and sound” and is “unwell and receiving treatment.”
O’Connor cited her problems with her family as her reason for her struggle to cope. Over the past week she has posted a series of posts Facebook, detailing count cases over the custody of her children and her current position in life. In one post, she mentions that she is “desperately in need of a job and a place to live.” Reading these posts, you can see how she got to this dark, depressing stage.
It was reported that she had attempted suicide for the first time 16 years ago after she was misdiagnosed with Bipolar. She had finally had enough. “I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in ireland, under another name,” she revealed in her note.
She said she was posting this publicly so she could be found quickly. “If I wasn’t posting this, my kids and family wouldn’t even find out,” she wrote. “Was dead for another fortnight since none of them bother their hole with me for a minute. I could have been dead here for weeks already and they’d never have known.”

Below the note, fans commented messages of support and love for O’Connor. They encouraged her to keep fighting, reminding her that she is not alone. We wish the same for O’Connor, and hope she regains her inner strength during her recovery.
O’Connor was lucky to have been found in time. There are so many in the music industry who suffer from mental illness; many of which have devastatingly lost their battles.
