The Dead Weather announce third album “Dodge & Burn”

Jack White-Allison Mosshart (The Kills) co-lead supergroup The Dead Weather have announced that they’ll be releasing their third album, Dodge & Burn, in September of this year. The band, which also features City and Colour/The Raconteurs bassist Jack Lawrence and Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist/backing vocalist Dean Fertita, are releasing the much anticipated follow-up to 2010’s Sea of Cowards via White’s label Third Man Records.

In a statement via the band’s Facebook page, the band wrote that they had been spending their rare and sporadic free time over the past year writing and recording together. These sessions have resulted in a bunch of new, unheard tracks which will feature on Dodge & Burn, along with four songs the band released as 7″ exclusives last year, which have been re-mastered for the album.

Super fans (hands up!) will be able to purchase the exclusive Vault Package, which includes a limited edition of the album pressed on “inclement weather vinyl” with an alternative cover featuring sand paper flames and a soft-touch sleeve and a deck of The Dead Weather playing cards. Still, despite the announcement, it looks as though White is set to continue his gigging hiatus, as the band have also stated that they won’t be supporting Doge & Burn with a tour, announcing via Facebook that “the thick and heavy Dodge & Burn will satisfy your urges for the dark magic that is The Dead Weather for a very long time.”
