For a band who have been around a lot longer than you think, it’s a small wonder that Chicagoans Twin Peaks haven’t made it to Australia yet. Their brand of garage rock is of a wonderful vintage, harkening back to bands of the swinging 60s like Them and The Stooges.
With album number three, Down In Heaven just a few weeks away though, Twin Peaks decided their very first tour of Australia was the best way to celebrate and we couldn’t be any more excited to see their apparently raucous live show.
A set that will be no doubt bolstered by the addition of new material from their upcoming album, their first since 2014 and the utterly delightful Wild Onion, including their two already released singles leading up to it in the above Butterfly and Walk To The One You Love.
No word on which bands might get the coveted support slots on the tour as of now, they’re still listed simply as ‘with special guests’, but we’re banking the fun, infectiousness and raw energy of the headliners will need to be reflected in their opening act/s.
Twin Peaks will run amok up and down the East Coast, stopping in to play shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne at The Brightside, The Oxford Arts Factory and The Curtin respectively. Venues that will provide a wonderful air of intimacy for Twin Peaks to throw down some of their kickass jams.
Tickets are available now and are going fast, so get in while you can and make sure you catch Twin Peaks, you’ll live to regret it if you don’t! If you’re in need of some reading until then, check out our interview with Twin Peaks themselves here!
