Having recently announced a third album is in the works, and releasing the first single and title track, excitement is at an all time high for Lana Del Rey‘s Honeymoon release. The first taste in the form of the title track was quintessential Lana, but still had us desperate for more – and now she has delivered. Titled High By The Beach, Del Rey has returned once more to deliver her stunning voice and old time glamour.
Officially out August 10, an early version of High By The Beach has surfaced online over the weekend, because the internet exists and that’s just what happens these days. Flirting with electronica even more than ever before, the almost trap style beats intertwine with her golden era voice with the combination becoming almost too sultry and inviting to handle. With lyrics like “You could be a bad motherfucker but that don’t make you a man,” this is Lana Del Rey at her best. Replacing her normal string section with synths is a bold move from Del Rey, but there is something about her that makes us feel warm and full, all the while exposed and vulnerable. It’s safe to say, we can’t wait for Honeymoon to drop!
