Having just returned home after a string of European shows, including performances at Liverpool Sound City, Primavera Sound and The Great Escape – Melbourne duo Klo are kicking on the second round of Cool Accidents’ Singles Club parties next week in both Sydney and Melbourne.
The series started off with Canberra group SAFIA just the other month, with the shows not only focusing on live elements, but also on limited show-only releases of 7” vinyl records by the bands themselves. For SAFIA, this was a release of their single Counting Sheep, and a live version of Paranoia, Ghosts & Other Sounds – for Klo, the release will include singles Under Lie and 25/10/2014.
Klo have been releasing some amazing stuff and playing some amazing shows. Just last year they released their debut EP Cusp, and played a whole bunch of Australian shows at festivals like Strawberry Fields, Beyond The Valley, Dark MOFO, and are playing Splendour this year. You’d be silly to sleep on a release of some fantastic stuff by them, and even sillier to miss seeing them at such great venues. It’s rare that shows go beyond just being a show, but Cool Accidents have started something really special here that definitely needs to be supported.
