It’s not unusual for celebrities to take the stage at music festivals nowadays – in fact it’s becoming more and more commonplace. Just last week at Bonnaroo in the USA, Jon Hamm and Zach Galifianakis took the stage a number of times both during and outside the times of musicians’ sets. This last weekend at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, the game stepped up when Walter White kicked off Above & Beyond’s set by pressing the button.
Well not really – I mean it was Bryan Cranston reciting lines from Breaking Bad, but still. Cranston kicked off the set for the UK Trance veterans, asking the audience to “Say my name”, which understandably made the audience of tens of thousands go absolutely buck wild. “You’re goddamn right’, he says before pressing play.
To be honest we didn’t really picture White/Cranston to be particularly avid Above & Beyond fan, but you never know.
All these festivals have been in the US, and most of the celebrities that have any kind of fame are from the US, so hopefully some of them migrate to Australia to do some features like this – fingers crossed Peter Dinklage @ Splendour.
Missing Breaking Bad? We sure are. Check out this amazing musical rendition of the entire serious – performed in just four minutes.
