Canary Islands-born, Barcelona-based party starter Pablo Diaz-Reixa, aka El Guincho, is back. After a five year absence, he’s just returned to Australia, bringing his tropical beats and heaving rhythms to dancefloors in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and more, including a five night stint at the National Gallery of Victoria. Last year saw the incredible talent return to the fore after a huge five year break, releasing new album HiperAsia to critical acclaim. The album, recorded across the Canary Islands, Barcelona and Madrid, signified a huge shift in sound for the artist, drawing in an entirely new generation of devoted fans.
We were lucky enough to catch the man in action last week in Melbourne, at the Howler on February 16, where he delivered an incredible performance with the backing of a live band.
