Listen: Boards Of Canada Remix Odd Nosdam’s “Sisters”

Formerly of experimental hip hop outfit cLOUDDEAD, beatsmith Odd Nosdam will be dropping  his latest LP Sisters this Friday.

A multimedia project, the album will also be released as a digital version and VHS which showcase a dazzling array of psychedelic and glitchy visuals.

Paving the way for the release, iconic Scottish electronic duo Boards of Canada have reworked the album’s title track Sisters.

With both Nosdam and Boards sharing an affinity for analogue equipment and boundary pushing arrangements, it’s of little surprise that the musicians have crossed paths before. In 2006, Nosdam remixed Boards’ Dayvan Cowboy which appeared on 2005’s Campfire Headphase LP. The reclusive Scottish duo aren’t usually ones to work with other’s material but it seems Odd Nosdam is one of the rare exceptions.

Driven by a stuttering synth bass, the Sisters incorporates transient vocals, tranquil organs and chiming ambient sounds to creates an immersive yet otherworldly soundscape. The accompanying visuals are comprised of a collage of seemingly unrelated used-footage. The deft touch comes with the visuals’ psychedelic treatment. The superimposing of a tapestry of digital art into the already glitchy footage creates a stunning visual effect.

Sister‘s will be released on February 26th via Leaving Records.
