It was a sad and sorry the day that The Gooch Palms packed up their bags and relocated to the US back in March. Would we ever see them again? Would they even survive? Will the Americans love them as much as we do? So many questions still to be answered, but there is cause for celebration (finally).
Having played over 70 shows across the US, it seems absence does make the heart grow fonder, and the unpredictable and exciting two piece are heading back home in January for a string of shows. If that was enough, they’ve also released a brand spankin’ new single to go along with the news! Titled Slow Burner, it’s one of the 13 new gems they’re sitting on since jumping into the studio with producer Bill Skibbe, and although it’s significantly different to anything they’ve done before, it’s still got that Gooch Palms energy that we know and love – and it’s that same energy that makes it still so great.
One half of the duo, Kat, said of the track, “We went into the recording studio with totally open minds and a few unfinished ideas and Slow Burner came out of one of those ideas. We had so much fun making it and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve as a two piece but always keeping it so we could play this one live as well. It’s kinda different but we wanted to just throw it out there into the world to see what reaction it gets.” Check the, for lack of a better word, interesting clip below!
To celebrate, The Gooch Palms will be touring the lovely East Coast for the latter part of January, and as alw
