If you live in Brisbane and haven’t yet been to The Triffid in Newstead, you’re straight missing out and should hang your head in shame.
Nestled inside an old hangar that’s been renovated to include a craft beer bar, a beer garden and a concert hall that has seen some positively mental gigs since it opened in November of last year, The Triffid has made itself known as one of the best live music venues Brisbane has to offer in a lightning span of time.

And if everybody you know is being a galah and nobody is throwing an Australia Day party, good old Triffid’s got you sorted there too. They’re turning the aforementioned beer garden into a traditional Hottest 100 backyard party (specifically the official Triple J Hottest 100 party) during the day and then kicking on into the night with a show by Brisbane’s own Millions.
You can have all of your Hottest 100 debates over a metric shit ton of delicious beers as well as burgers on the grill and you’ll be enjoying it all in one of the best new venues in Brisbane. What the bloody hell would you miss this for?
