Southbound Have Dropped Their Lineup and You’re Gonna Wanna Take a Look

Having spent a while dropping hints about their 2016 lineup, the epic WA-based SOuthbound festival has today dropped a bunch of big names, staking its claim as one of the most highly anticipated festivals the country has to offer. Following the unfortunate cancellation of the event earlier this year due to bushfires in surrounding areas, festival organisers have reassured 2016 ticket holders will get in early for the upcoming dates in December.

Organisers for the festival have also said that now “more than ever, Southbound feels strongly connected to the South West and is developing programs and strategies to cement the synergy between the local community and the festival.” Following the devastating bushfire earlier that forced its cancellation earlier this year, festival organisers raised over $150,000 towards the Southbound Benefit Concert, and the festival will continue to undertake fundraising initiatives leading up to the December event, including collection options made on ground across the three day festival to continuing in aiding the rebuilding efforts.

The first release, having gone on sale in July, are already moving quickly so you best be getting on it ASAP.

With the festival now taking place over December 27-29, Southbound 2016 v2, as it’s being touted, is boasted a pretty heft line-up, stuffed with local and international acts. With Falls Festival headed to Western Australia for the first time ever this year, the two events are no-longer sharing acts across their lineups. Not that it seems to have put a dampener on Southbound, with the post-Christmas, pre-New Year’s event featuring local faves The Smith Street Band, Sticky Fingers and Montaigne to name but a few. There’s more to be announced, but for now, the lineup is as follows (alphabetically):
