Nicki Minaj has bailed her older brother, Jelani, out of jail after he allegedly raped a minor. According to The Mirror UK, it cost Minaj $100,000 to free her brother from Nassau County jail last week.
Along with the money, the bond was supported by two of her homes in New York. According to the New York Times, it was unclear whether Minaj’s brother made a plea. The details about the incident involving a “victim younger than 13″ are still yet to be released.
Minaj posted this photo with a touching message for her brother after attending his wedding to Jacqueline Robinson three months ago, explaining how much he means to her. “I would cross the ocean for u. I would go & bring u the moon. Promise u. For u I will. I love my brother so much man.”
This news comes after Queen Latifah praised Minaj for pushing the boundaries and speaking her mind about equality issues. “You’ve become an inspiration to women everywhere. I love how you’re never afraid to speak your mind. You’re a strong woman, you refuse to be backed into a corner,” Latifah says. “You’ve established yourself as one of the greats. No one can take that away from you.”
