Listen to SBTRKT’s latest, ‘Flicker’

SBTRKT was just in town for Listen Out festival, during which he gave an interview at triple j, where he revealed a few details about his upcoming album – including that it’ll have less collaborations, and more grime. He’s now spoken about it more during his takeover of Benji B’s BBC Radio 1 show, where he also shared brand new music along with it.

He’s dropped a few tracks here and there since 2014’s full length album Wonder Where We Land – and judging by a few recent comments, it won’t be long until we have the complete follow-up on our hands.

Flicker is really different, and really special. It shows a clear shift in his sound, really playing on subtleties and a less-is-more mentality. The devil is in the details throughout this glistening, and indeed flickery track, sitting just beneath the two-minute mark.

Over the course of three hours he played six new tracks – you can listen to the whole show here. Along with his own music he spun tunes from some of the best out there, including tracks from Caribou, HudMo, Flying Lotus, Liars, Pusha T, Little Dragon and more – full tracklist here.

SBTRKT has visited Australia twice already this year – but hopefully he’ll head back again soon when the new album drops.
