Notorious ‘hacktivist’ group Anonymous have turned their burning gaze toward The Prodigy’s Keith Flint after he allegedly went fox hunting recently.

In their free time between hunting the most feared global terrorists Islamic State, Anonymous has found time to put together a YouTube video calling Flint a “traitorous fuckwit”.

“It has come to our attention that Keith has a fetish for murdering animals. It has come to our attention that Keith has been rubbing shoulders with Tory criminals whilst out fox hunting,” the masked man decries in the video.

According to ever reliable sources at the Daily Mail, Flint “has embarked on a new life as a country gent and been spotted riding out with his local hunt,” reporting that Flint has bought several hunting horses and “is the talk of the Essex hunting circles.”

Anonymous have warned that Flint has one year to clean up his act after reneging on his long held anti-establishment values.

Predictably shitting himself, Flint has released a statement via The Prodigy’s Facebook page making it clear that no animals were hurt.

Coincidently (or not), The Prodigy’s most recent album The Day Is My Enemy featured an urban fox in its artwork.

Let’s hope that’s the only photo of a fox, dead or alive, on his computer – because Anonymous is sure to check.

The Prodigy’s long-awaited sixth studio album The Day is my Enemy is furiously captivating and an honest testament to why they have been in the biz for 25 years.

Pioneers of the big beat genre, lasting members Liam Howlett, Keef Flint and Maxim present an album infused with electronic beats and live instrumentals that take you on a journey through the underbelly of city nightlife.

There is a consistent dark, angry edge to the album with an expressive hard sound and at times eerie vocal that pull in the listener.

Beyond The Deathray is the only song on the album without vocals giving air to the electronic sound in its most pure form.

Title track The Day Is My Enemy is something of a statement piece, kicking off the album with a brawny snare leading into female vocals, before penetrating that aggressive, angry vibe which seeps into every pore of the entire album. And it’s actually magic.

With a taste more acquired in the depths of deep house and house – evidently far from the heavy electronic and instrumentally infused sound of The Prodigy, I can’t help but say I agree with The Herald Sun when it comes to this album: “Sounds like beautiful noise.”

Give the album a listen HERE and let me know what you think.

Here’s our five favourite videos to come out this week so far:

Twin Caverns, Drown
I’ve followed this Sydney duo since their first track, so I’m very excited to share their first ever video here too. As beautiful and eerie as the song itself, find yourself mesmerised by the hypnotic, sensual smokiness (literal and figurative) of their clip for Drown. Follow the story through a deep, green forest and you’ll really get into the track’s atmosphere.

Kucka, Divinity
Another song I fell in love with on first listen, Perth artist Kucka has just dropped the video for her new single Divinity. Like Twin Caverns, the video is as sensual and intimate as the single, it’s essentially Kucka in the shower, but it’s artistic and powerful beyond just being sexual – and you don’t see that too often.

Alt-J, Pusher
Wow, this was somehow unexpected. Soon in town for another series of shows, Alt-J have released a bleak video for Pusher. It’s gloomy and strange, featuring businessmen in dark suits standing around a single man yelling/preaching, breaking down and eventually snapping his own neck. One of their most intimate songs, the video is emotional and incredibly confronting.

The Prodigy, Wild Frontier
In town this week for Future Music Festival, The UK electronic stalwarts have released the third track – and video – off their upcoming album The Day Is My Enemy. The funny little clip features a series of animated characters, mostly dealing with hunting, roadkill, motorcycle accidents and one moose’s revenge. I’m not so sure about the song but I love this clip.

Public Service Broadcasting, Go
Ahead of their album release later this week, these space age artists have released another space-age video. Recordings from space flights intertwine with synths, and the video kind of does the same – black and white scenes of controllers and control rooms mashed up with clean shots of the band and their instruments. It’s simple and beautiful, with a lot of little visual delights throughout.

GREAT NEWS SYDNEY PEOPLE!

Legendary UK electronic wizards The Prodigy have announced one very special sideshow to Future Music Festival. It’s taking place at The Big Top in Luna Park on March 11. WOOHOO!

Anyone who has ever seen The Prodigy (and even those who haven’t) know that they’re completely unmatched when it comes to live shows. Having penned some of the most epic hits in dance music history, their live performances have become the thing of myths and legends.
