Kendrick Lamar and SZA have joined forced to release a new track, All The Stars. The collaboration between TDE’s king and queen has been released as part of the forthcoming soundtrack to Marvel’s Black Panther. One of 2018’s most anticipated films, it just grew even bigger with the news that Lamar and TDE head Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, will be both producing and curating the soundtrack.
In a press release, Lamar spoke about the importance of the film and its titular character—Black Panther was the first black superhero, and the film will be the first superhero movie to feature a predominantly African American cast. “Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director [Ryan Coogler]. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honoured to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.”
“Working on such a powerful movie is a great opportunity,” added Tiffith. “We’re always working on new goals at TDE, so teaming up with Disney, Marvel Studios and the Black Panther film makes perfect sense.”
The press release also confirms that this will be the first time in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe history that several original songs have been written specifically for a Marvel Studios movie.
While the full soundtrack won’t be released until February 9, trailers released in 2017 featured music from Vince Staples and Run the Jewels. Watch below.
Black Panther will be released worldwide on February 15-16, including Australia. We can’t bloody wait.

As confirmed by the “Top Dawg” himself, Anthony Tifith, someone from the legendary hip-hop crew TDE will be dropping something new tonight. The roster boasts some of the genres biggest names, like Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, SZA, and more, so this is very, very big news.
i will drop something when my plane touchdown in LA 2nite… kool?

Very kool.
The last time Tifith shared news about future TDE releases, we copped Kendrick’s untitled, unmastered., so it’s safe to say expectations are sky high.
However, it is bad news for those who may have used up their TIDAL free trial for Kanye West‘s The Life Of Pablo, as TIDAL also confirmed the news meaning the release may or may not be exclusive to them. TIDAL has been in a lot of hot water lately, from the botched release of Rihanna‘s ANTi, the ongoing saga that is TLOP and the accusations from head honcho himself, Jay-Z, that their numbers were skewed before buying.
Speculation is already rife on Twitter, with fans requesting new releases from every single act on the roster. Tifith, not one for giving much away, shared this cryptic Instagram last month, which doesn’t say much whilst saying everything. Given that ScHoolboy Q shared a teaser not too long ago himself, bets are on a fresh Groovy Q release, but in this day and age when nothing really is as it seems, it’s really anyone’s guess.

Top Dawg Entertainment has some of today’s greatest rappers on its roster, and fans are desperate to get new music from them. TDE CEO Anthony Tiffith released a photo over night detailing the progress of each artist’s album.
It looks like in 2016, fans can look forward to new music from ScHoolboy Q, SZA, Isaiah Rashad, and Ab-Soul. There are also two new artist on the list only referred to as John Doe 1 and 2, but if their current roster has set any sort of standard, these new artist should be highly regarded.
Also on the list is Grammy Award winning artist Kendrick Lamar, who’s progress in unclear with only “??? (GET TOP ON THE PHONE)” beside his name. I am not sure what this means or who “Top” is, but hopefully it’s Top Dawg himself and he just has to give the all clear for the album to be released and in early 2016 we will get new K Dot.
Unfortunately, Jay Rock is still in hospital after a motorcycle accident last month, but is said to be on the way to recovery. Once he gets there, I hope he is back to making music, and can join this list too.
Lastly, on list is “2017 possible release” by artist BH. BH can only possibly mean Black Hippy, a collaborative of TDE artists, Kendrick, Schoolboy, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock. Fans have been praying for an album release from Black Hippy since the group formed in 2009, but it seems unfortunately we will still have to pray, as the album status is literally “praying.” At least it looks like it is in the works.
Check out the Instagram post below for the progress of each artist and keep Black Hippy and Jay Rock in your prayers.

For the second year in a row, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) hosted an annual charity toy drive at Watt’s Nickerson Gardens Projects this week. Giving out toys to underprivileged kids as well as bringing some much needed holiday cheer, every member of the TDE crew was there so those in attendance were also treated to some performances as well.
Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, SZA and Isaiah Rashad were all there, and each treated the audience to some of their own hits. Big Sean and Ty Dolla $ign were also brought out for surprise tracks, but the performance that has everyone talking is that of Black Hippy performing Jay Rock’s latest single, Vice City.
Black Hippy – consisting of Kendrick, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul – are one of hip-hop’s most formidable outfits, but due to the huge amounts of success each member is now experiencing, performances by the whole group have become a bit of a rarity. Fan footage of this latest performance has now surfaced on the internet, and it’s clear to see just how well these four work together. Playing around with each other whilst jumping on each other’s verses, the Black Hippy boys look right at home when they’re side by side. Take a look for yourself:
