Not content with just letting George Fitzgerald and Henry Saiz lead the party, Strawberry Fields Festival has just dropped an extra 50 acts in a huge second lineup announcement.

Leading the charge is Detroit house pioneer Moodymann, returning to Australia for the first time since 2013.

London producer Dan Shake is also joining the bill, alongside Atish and Voyage Records representatives Andy Hart and Youandewan.

Closer to home, Melbourne one-woman band Tash Sultana will bring her experimental, beat-box laden blues jams to the party, while Perth crew Koi Child will add their infectious energy to the bill in continuing their ever-expanding list of live shows for the year.

Charles Murdoch, CC:Dsco and Alice Ivy are also part of the new swag of artists flying the Aussie flag to join the lineup.

In addition to the new acts, a couple of special showcases have been announced to feature at the festival as well.

The first of which will come on behalf of Tasemakers’ Wondercore Island, using the festival to showcase new material by a number of artists’ on their roster including Nai Palm (Hiatus Kaiyote), Swooping Duck and Oscar Key. London Institution Rhythm Section International will also deliver a showcase at the festival, with Bradley Zero and Prequel set to perform.

Traditionally the first major event of the summer festival season, the second announcement has bolstered the lineup, turning it into one hell of a unique collection of sounds and ideas.

With now less than a month until festival season kicks off with Strawberry Fields, yesterday the organisers announced via their Facebook that the festival would be changing locations this year.

Though the dense bush has been home to The Wildlands for many years now, the change of scenery moves the festivities right to the banks of the Murray River. It’s not far from where it has been, still right next to Tocumwal NSW, just near Albury Wodonga on the border between Victoria and New South Wales – so don’t worry about a huge change of direction in getting there. The most obvious change the new location will have is the amazing addition of swimming! Strawberry takes place in a very hot place at a very hot time, with past festivals recording temperatures around 40°C, and so swimming will no doubt become a huge part of The Wildlands’ already extensive culture.

Do I hear some of you saying, “Man, but I loved the old location so much, the dense bushland was sick!” Have no fear. You’ve got the choice of camping either in the open plains closest to the water at the Southern Savannah, or under the eucalypts of the Northern Forests. There’s something for everyone!

With only a little over a month to go until summer (though the weather recently has made it feel otherwise,) the festival season is fast approaching. There are some absolutely insane lineups over the course of the New Year, but a whole month before that, to kick off the season proper, is Strawberry Fields.

To celebrate that fact, we’ve made a comprehensive playlist of everyone that you’ll be able to see at this year’s festivities in The Wildlands. International and local DJs and producers will fill the bill this year, with a blend of traditional house, tech, psytrance and all sorts of electronic inspired tunes. Amin Payne, András, BICEP, Booka Shade, Human Movement, Kllo, Lapalux, LUCIANBLOMKAMP, Oddisee, Oisima, Shigeto, Soul Clap, Sweetland, TENSNAKE, Willow Beats and so so many more are playing, so make sure you check it out down below:

But Strawberry Fields isn’t just about the music. The crowd is absolutely amazing, there’s all sorts of art and installation pieces (with this year the organisers working alongside artists from Burning Man), the camping is super open and really relaxed, and the memories will last forever. Strawberry Fields is the doof of all doofs. It’s held on the border between New South Wales and Victoria just near Albury Wodonga, and the last two-ish hundred tickets are going fast – so make sure you jump on that asap here and check the full lineup here.

Festival season starts now, hallelujah.

Strawberry Fields Festival have unveiled the third and final instalment of their lineup announcement, and it is absolutely huge. Alongside some massive international representation from artists like Lapalux, Shigeto, Bicep and more, the third announcement unveils even more of the festival’s local talent.

Sui Zhen, Tornado Wallace, SASH DJ’s, U-Khan and more will bring the beat in the Wildlands this November, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Strawberry Fields as a festival is, though with a stellar lineup, not just about the music. Over a three day visit, the festival is all about the vibe – with everyone there having an absolutely amazing time, alongside the artists, performers and the organisers of the festival itself. It’s care free and one of the most beautiful festivals that Australia has to offer.

Tickets are selling out super fast, so you’ll have to get on board quick if you want to get down and dirty in the wild. First, second and third release are all gone, and fourth and final tickets are going quick too. Jump on that asap, and check out the full lineup here and the newest announcement below. See you there.
