Atlanta’s Lil Yachty has announced his first ever Australian headline tour, in support of his appearance at Splendour in the Grass 2017.
With his debut album Teenage Emotions expected to be released some time this year, Australian audiences will hopefully get to hear some of the new material live this July.
He’s just released a new track, Let’s Get Rich, and we’re expecting more music soon.
The divisive artist has been the subject of deep debate over the past year or so, with much of his less-than-traditional music and persona calling into question his credibility as an artist; the controversy has sparked a greater conversation about the ever-evolving definition and comprehension of hip-hop and what it even means to be a rapper in 2017. Love him or hate him, this is hip-hop today. His beats are bouncy, his flow is mumbly, and he genuinely seems like a pretty cool guy – so we’re looking forward to seeing what his first ever live shows in Australia will be like.
Lil Yachty will play one show in New Zealand and three in Australia – Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Tickets go on sale on Thursday April 13 at 10am local time, with a pre-sale kicking off at midday on Monday, April 10. Head to Live Nation for full details.
