One of Australia’s most formidable, unpredictable and dramatic live performers, Gareth Liddiard has announced a headline solo tour around the east coast, taking place throughout March and April. Best known as frontman for The Drones, who returned last year with the fantastic Feelin Kinda Free, Liddiard has also been responsible for a number of engaging solo releases. His solo shows focus on his own work, but Drones fans shouldn’t fret – there’ll be a few favourites slung in as well. On top of this, he will be debuting a few brand new tunes from a new project, which he and Fiona Kitschin have reportedly bene working on for the past couple of months.
One of the best live acts around – and my personal favourite Australian rock band – Liddiard’s on-stage energy is wild and brilliant, regardless of whether he’s with the band or playing solo.
Liddiard has reportedly spent the last month on a sabbatical in Latin America, and will return in a few weeks to kick off the run at A Festival Called Panama in Tasmania.
