The Groovin The Moo sideshows are all being announced this week, and one that we’re most excited about is the great Against Me! who are heading out on a six-day tour as well as their GTM appearances.
Against Me!’s last album, Shape Shift With Me, came out last September to critical acclaim. It followed on from 2014’s Transgender Dysphoria Blues. Both albums focus on themes related to frontwoman Laura Jane Grace’s life as a transgender woman, a thematic and musical triumph for not only the band, but punk rock as a whole.
After coming out as transgender in 2012, Grace has almost singlehandedly led punk rock to have a more a more accepting and welcoming stance toward the transgender community. Last November Grace also released a powerful memoir, TRANNY: Confessions of Punk Rock’s Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout.
Check out all tour dates below. Camp Cope will be opening for the band on each date, having just wrapped up a tour with Laneway Festival this weekend.
