Man Fatally Shot In Chest While Filming Bliss N Eso Video In Brisbane

An actor on the set of a new Bliss N Eso video clip has been fatally shot by a weapon which was meant to be used as a prop during a scene of the video.

The news of a shooting first broke earlier this afternoon. While it was initially reported that the victim was a stuntman working for the film Pacific Rim: Uprising, it was later confirmed that it took place on the Bliss N Eso set.

A press release has been sent out confirming that the shooting took place on the set, but that the band themselves were not on site:

We are able to confirm the death of a person occurred today at the filming of a Bliss n Eso music clip.  The band were not on site at the time.  The video production crew and our team are currently working with the police in their investigation and we are unable to provide further comment at this time.

Queensland Police have since confirmed that the man – an actor, not stuntman – in his 20s, was accidentally shot. While the incident was first being treated as a workplace incident, it is reportedly now being investigated as a criminal incident.

More details have since emerged. The Independent report that the man was fatally shot in the chest, while Detective Inspector Tom Armitt has reportedly told Yahoo, “We do not know specifically how those injuries have occurred at this point in time and that will be subject of our investigation.”

Police have also confirmed that the film company involved are assisting in the current investigation.

The shooting took place at the Brooklyn Standard bar, who have now responded via a Facebook post:

Bliss N Eso are yet to respond personally.
