Run The Jewels are back, and their new album Run The Jewels 3 is so close that you can practically smell the witty one-liners and the weed that inspired them. After months of anticipation, El-P and Killer Mike not only performed a Halloween-themed song with Stephen Colbert last week, but they dropped the first official single from the album, Talk To Me. They have also announced the first leg of a 2017 world tour, and while the current listings only include US dates, we’re crossing our fingers and toes that the tour will include a long-overdue visit back to Australia.
El-P has now taken to Twitter to officially deliver an album deadline. He has promised fans that at the VERY latest, it’ll be out in the first week of January 2017:
RTJ3 MICRO UPDATE: we want it out this year, it will be out 1st week of next year at the LATEST, we will announce ASAP. thanks. THANKS.

Considering we’re already in the first week of November, this means that we’ll have a brand new Run The Jewels album on our hands in within two months (but hopefully we’ll get it a bit earlier so I can make a joke about it being A Christmas Fucking Miracle.)
That is pretty bloody fantastic news considering both RTJ and RTJ2 are among the best hip-hop albums of the last decade.
You can hear a little more of the new album in this trailer for Gears of War 4, with more available within the game.
