The Secret Garden 2017 Dates & Ticket Deets Are Here

Sydney’s Secret Garden Festival is officially back. Our favourite small Sydney festival, with a growing audience, and matching reputation flourishing each year. The first details for the 2017 event are now here, and we’re already counting down the hours.

As is the Secret Garden tradition, the lineup isn’t revealed until the event sells out – which is does every single year. Last year featured a stellar selection of the country’s best live performers, including Gang of Youths, Green Buzzard, Saskwatch, Mansionair, Gordi and Sampa The Great, as well as international guest Raury.

There really is no other event in the state, and quite possibly the country, like Secret Garden. The event has a remarkably laid back atmosphere (save for the over-excited security on entry), really making the most of its smaller audience numbers, the costumes (everyone – and I mean everyone – really goes in for the full fancy dress) and the event’s colourful, even hallucinatory backdrop, with decorations, hidden stages and more speckled throughout the surrounding greenery.

Secret Garden 2017 will take place on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th February 2017. Tickets go on sale at 9 am on Thursday, September 29, but those who’ve attended the festival in previous years will be getting an email shortly about a pre-sale.

Tickets cost $195 for the full event including camping, or $295 for VIP packages, which must be purchased in groups of four and includes a tent, an afternoon tea, and “endless glitter” which is probably not a euphemism for anything and really does just mean bucketloads of glitter, which you should prepare to enter a long term relationship with because it’ll happen whether you like it or not. Single day tickets are also available for just $139. If there’s anyone who wants to party without worrying about the drive, there’s also a return bus to and from the Sydney CBD for just $30, a pretty amazing prize in exchange for being safe on the road.
