The FOMO 2017 Lineup is Here & Ridiculous

January this year saw the sweaty, sweltering, glorious introduction to FOMO Festival at Brisbane’s Riverstage and the introduction of a big stage summer festival to a city that had been largely bereft of them beyond Laneway. Featuring the likes of Tkay Maidza, Skepta, Flight Facilities, Jamie xx and RL Grime (whose set was pure carnage in every sense of the word), such as success was this year’s event in Brisbane that 2017 has seen the festival expanding into Sydney and Adelaide as well. After a fake lineup poster did the rounds of the Internet yesterday, we have the real FOMO 2K17 lineup in our mitts (sorry, “Desiinger” is not playing).

Similar to this year, next year’s FOMO will be a heady mix of local and international talent. Announced today to headline the festival are Chicago heavyweights Flosstradamus, who haven’t appeared at an Australian festival for three long years and will be making their return exclusively at FOMO, as well as Australian heroes Empire Of The Sun, who are returning with a brand spanker in Two Vines and playing their first Australian shows since 2014.

Also on the bill and following in his brother’s Skepta’s footsteps from this year is grime legend JME, as well as Washington D.C.’s GoldLink coming to dance on everybody. They’ll be joined by one of the fastest rising superstars in hip-hop production in Metro Boomin, who may not trust everybody but trusts FOMO enough to want to throw down there.

Also in line to rip everyone a new one and do Australia proud up against so much international talent are Peking Duk, Slumberjack and George Maple leading up a local contigent that more than holds its own.

There are so many more names attached to this stellar lineup, and the always popular one stage setup means you have the opportunity to see every single second of 2017’s FOMO with none of those hateful clashes other festivals force you to endure. FOMO will make its triumphant return to Riverstage in Brisbane and also announced today were the locations for Sydney and Adelaide’s events, with The Crescent, Parramatta Park playing host to FOMO in Sydney and the heritage-listed Adelaide Gaol hosting FOMO in the city of churches.

With tickets all below three figures, this is one of the most affordable festivals in the country, and this lineup announcement means tickets are going to fly like the wind. Tickets are onsale now from the official FOMO website.
