It seems Corey Taylor just can’t get enough of the spotlight, and now he’s teaming up with hip-hop’s favourite metal group, Korn.
Not content with casually breaking his neck without realising, or knocking phones out of punters hands at gigs, the Slipknot frontman has now been announced as a feature artist on the forthcoming Korn album.
In an interview with Metal Hammer, Korn guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer revealed that Taylor will feature on one song in which “he really lets loose.”
“We have Corey singing in one track and it’s going to be a fan favourite…on a heaviness scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the 1994 self-titled, this album is a definite 9.”
Given Taylor’s extremely large vocal range, the prospect of the singer “letting loose” should have fans licking their lips all around the world.
With the metal side of things taken care of for the new record, it remains to be seen if there will be any more hip-hop collaborations on the album.
Due to the quality of the bands previous outings with the genre, we are all crossing our fingers.
The yet-to-be-named album will be the bands 12th, following on from 2013’s return to form with The Paradigm Shift.
