Radiohead Release New Short Film For “Identikit”

Radiohead have just released the latest in their artist-inspired series of vignettes for their latest album A Moon Shaped Pool. And, predictably, it’s as inscrutable and unsettling as it is deceptively clever and intriguing.

This particular vignette, set to Identikit, is actually the second visual interpretation of the song. So far, there have been six videos in the series, each directed by someone different. The clip was directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, and features French actor Denis Lavant eating… something? Nothing? It’s not entirely clear. But then, hey – what else would you expect from a Radiohead short.

Next up in our series of vignettes is Identikit by Yorgos Lanthimos.

The previous vignettes in the series have been directed by the likes of Weirdcore (who’s worked with Tame Impala, Charli XCX, MIA and Louis Vuitton), Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd) and Oscar Hudson (directed Darwin Deez‘s The Mess She Made). It’s probably safe to assume there are more vignettes on their way, too. Radiohead are currently embarking on a whirlwind run of festival dates and shows (and private garden parties). The band have expanded their set lately to include songs (yes, including Creep) that they’ve repeatedly omitted in past years. No word yet on when or if they’ll come back down under – the last time the band was here was in 2012.
