clipping. Return with new EP ‘Wriggle’

The experimental noise-rap trio clipping. have just dropped a new EP called Wriggle. It’s a solid six-track release and marks the second win for MC Daveed Diggs in just a few days. Over the weekend Diggs received a Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for the roles of Thomas Jefferson and Marquis de Lafayette in the hip-hop musical Hamilton.

Where he found time to record new music and star in Hamilton, is beyond me, but I suppose it has been a long time coming as it’s clipping.’s first release since 2014’s CLPPNG.

Wriggle features Antwon, Signor Benedick The Moor, Cakes Da Killa, Maxi Wild, and Nailah Middleton (who provides a beautiful chorus on the track Our Time).

The trio, which consists of MC Diggs with producers William Hutson, who also makes noise music as Rale, and Jonathan Snipes, of Captain Ahab, had a pretty unique time making this EP as it’s been said they recorded themselves firing 15 different guns, to record the ‘noise’ for Shooter. The title track Wriggle is built around a sample of Whitehouse’s Wriggle Like A Fucking Eel.

You can stream Wriggle EP below and purchase via Bandcamp. We can expect a new clipping. full-length to be released this spring via Sub Pop/Deathbomb Arc.
