Action Bronson‘s good friend and sidekick Meyhem Lauren makes his presence felt with the release of his latest solo project Piatto D’Oro. Having teased fans with the Bronson featuring tracks Garlic And Oil and Dragon Vs. Wolf, Lauren finally delivers the album he previewed tracks from when touring alongside Bronson earlier this year.
The follow up to 2014’s Silk Pyramids, Piatto D’Oro is 15 tracks of old school flavoured East Coast production coupled with Lauren’s entertaining street raps. Lauren and Bronson have great chemistry, so it’s no surprise Bronsolino appears on three of the albums tracks, while fellow New Yorker’s Roc Marciano and Big Body Bes also make their presence felt. The production credits are top notch too, with Harry Fraud, Alchemist, Dj Muggs, Large Professor and Seth Silenser just some of the big names involved.
Named after a restaurant in Queens, Lauren has been visiting for years, Piatto D’Oro is easily Lauren’s best release of his career so far, a statement he readily agrees with. Talking with Complex, Lauren exclaimed, “I feel that it’s my favorite work to date. I feel like it has something for everybody. It has grimy records, it has something for the radio. It’s fun, it’s still me. I’ve been growing a lot and this album showcases my growth and where I’m headed career wise.”
