Slipknot Have Announced An Australian Tour

Maggots around the country (well, part of it), raise your horns.

The planet’s favourite masked metalers Slipknot have today announced a return to Australian shores, with a three date run up the East Coast in October.

The group were last in Australia for the 2015 instalment of  the Soundwave Festival (RIP), where they headlined the main stage and produced one of the most bombastic metal shows the country has ever seen (fire… lots of actual fire).

The shows will be the first headline shows for the band in Australia in eight years; the nine-piece’s last headline tour came off the back of the polarising All Hope Is Gone LP in 2008, which saw them take over arenas in all capital cities.

Since that last visit the band have undergone numerous lineup changes, the death of founding member and Bassist Paul Gray, and have released arguably their darkest work to date in the form of .5The Grey Chapter.

Melbourne fans are in for an extra-special treat, with the band’s stopover coinciding with Halloween (and Melbourne Cup eve).

If you need another reason to head to the show, watch this video below of the carnage that is a Slipknot mosh pit.
