Sydney trio Philadelphia Grand Jury have released a catchy, playful new song in the lead up to a very unique national tour. The latest single Spend More Time is a rework of a track from their 2015 release Summer of Doom. Despite it being freakin’ cold in Brisbane and probably everywhere else in Australia, this song feels like driving to the beach on a cloudless Summer day with no doom in sight.
In classic Philly Jays fashion, Spend More Time is youthful, raw indie rock at its finest and is stuck in my head already. The band have also announced that this song will feature on their upcoming album set for release later on this year. Wonderful news for Philly Jays fans who have been forced to wait a whole year for new music.
When embarking on their national tour, Philadelphia Grand Jury decided to take crowd interaction to a whole new level. Kicking off in Brisbane this weekend is the ‘So You Think You Can Philly Jays?’ karaoke tour. The concept will be like a karaoke bar where lucky fans will get an opportunity to jump up on stage and sing along to their favourite songs – there may even be a few karaoke classics thrown in. Spend More Time will be available on Friday the 27th of May via Inertia.
