LISTEN: Action Bronson Drops “Mr 2. Face” ft. Jah Tiger, Meyhem Lauren

It’s always a good day when there’s new music from Action Bronson. Having released one of our favourite albums of last year, Mr Wonderful, and recently rocking sold out crowds in Australia, Bam Bam Baklava has already released a number of new tracks this year. The latest is the reggae-infused Mr 2 Face, released alongside collaborators Jah Tiger and Meyhem Lauren, who opened for Bronson on his recent tour.

The track is a step away from the blues and soul-infused instrumentals peppering Mr Wonderful. The distinctly reggae-sounding tune, complete with a full patois-laden verse from the wonderful Jah Tiger, is smooth, smooth, smooth. Breezy and understated, this is groovy as hell. While reggae typically bores me a little, Bronson and Lauren’s raspy flows work so well with the laid back vibe. A female vocalist adds a honeyed tone to the outro, and the song tapers out just before the four-minute mark.

I’m loving this track, and I’m looking forward to hearing more from the upcoming Blue Chips 7000 project, formerly known as Blue Chips 7, part of the Blue Chips mixtape series.

Considering he had this to say about the project, I’m pretty damn keen.

We’re not sure when it’ll be coming out, considering he’s also busy with his food series Fuck, That’s Delicious, but hopefully it’ll be out within the next few months.

Check out of photos of Action Bronson live in Sydney, and review of him live in Melbourne.
