Kendrick Lamar’s “untitled unmastered” Production Credits Revealed

Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered has had it’s full list of production and performance credits released by one of it’s producers.

Since the record’s release in March, fans have been busily trying to figure out who was involved in making the record come to life. Thus far, all they’ve had to go on were interviews and occasional comments from those involved, but no complete official list of production and performance credits has been released.

Thank god for Sounwave, then, TDE’s resident producer, who today tweeted a full list of the album credits.

The list includes frequent Kendrick collaborator Thundercat, as well as Cee-Lo Green, Jay Rock, SZA and Bilal among others. Although most of these names had already revealed their contributions to the album in past interviews, it’s good to see their names being physically linked to specific points within the album, instead of their involvement simply being discussed.

The surprise album, although highly unexpected, proved to be an important release for Kendrick. Not only did is boast extremely impressive sales numbers, but it showed that the Compton rapper didn’t have to generate hype in order to have his music heard, he could do it on artistic merit alone.

The album’s unexpected release essentially comes down to how easy it was to whip together, with most of untitled unmastered’s tracks being recycled from the songs that didn’t make the cut for his immensely successful To Pimp A Butterfly.
