Motion City Soundtrack Announce Indefinite Hiatus

Sad news out of the Motion City Soundtrack camp. After two decades of music, the Minnesota-based band announced an “indefinite hiatus” over Facebook this weekend.

The band announced that after a period of reflection, following a busy 2015 of recording, releasing and touring, they have decided to say goodbye. Their last album Panic Stations, came out in September last year.

“We have no idea what the future holds, but for now we are done.”

The band plan to go out with a bang, sharing the news that a tour announcement will arrive next week for fans who want to see the five-piece performing one last time. They last toured Australia just last year, celebrating the ten year anniversary of their brilliant 2005 release Commit This To Memory. While no official announcements about the tour have been made, it’s probably quite safe to assume that they won’t be visiting Australia – so fans who attended the shows should consider themselves lucky; we’ll likely never see them down here again.
