Jennifer Lopez is the latest muso to jump in the car with loveable Brit James Corden for The Late Late Show‘s Carpool Karaoke. Corden is always so effortlessly hilarious and has the ability to make celebrities seem more human to us civilians regardless of if it’s Justin Bieber or Sia in her weird face cover wig.
The latest episode starts with Corden “taking it back” to J Lo’s classic Love Don’t Cost A Thing, in which she encourages him to take on some of the higher notes. They also sing Booty, Jen‘s 2015 song with Iggy Azalea, cover Bruno Mars‘ Locked Out of Heaven and throwback to 2011’s On the Floor which features Pitbull– who thankfully was not present in this video.
At one point J Lo shows also Corden how to do music video dancing for which he immediately pulls over – the car pool karaoke equivalent of “hold my vasoline”. Other highlights included J Lo singing a song from her 2007 Spanish album Como Ama una Mujer and James fan-girling through her phone book of celebrity friends then sending the following text to Leonardo Di Caprio:
“Hey baby, I’m kind of feeling like I need to cut loose. Any suggestions? Let me know, J.Lo (you know, from The Block).”
I recommend you stick around for the end because its the best part. When Leonardo Di Caprio replies to J Lo’s text, he suggests somewhere she could go to cut loose but even though she could party with Leo or pretty much anyone, J Lo says, “I’ll be home cooking with my kids.”
Note: some light googling helped me discover James’ middle name is Kimberley.
