Izzy Stradlin Is Not Involved In The Guns N’ Roses Reunion

Guns N’ Roses will be without guitarist Izzy Stradlin for the bands reunion.

In an email to Rolling Stone, Stradlin reportedly stated that, “At this point in time, I will not be playing at any of the April 2016 GNR shows.”

“I’ve also not been in the studio recording or writing with any of the others recently. There is so much speculation, but so very little info, [that] I thought I should reach out.”

Speculation regarding Stradlin’s involvement with the reformed group was thrust to the forefront last week when a Twitter account under the name of @IzzyStradlin999 began actively communicating with the public.

Despite suspicion regarding the authenticity of the account, a video posted by the account showing Stradlin singing a snippet of Sunshine by Jonathan Edwards confirmed it was him.

Stradlin was part of the bands classic line-up that recorded the bands ground breaking 1987 LP Appetite For Destruction. He left the group in 1991 and continued work as a solo artist, in addition to sporadically appearing with the band as a guest until 2014.

Guns N’ Roses will perform as one of the headliners at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival alongside the likes of LCD Soundsystem and Calvin Harris. The band have also announced a two night stand in Las Vegas as a warm up for the festival. Regardless of who is on-stage with the band, this is going to be huge!
