Gwen Stefani is set to make music history, by creating a first ever music video on live TV during this year’s Grammys.
The No Doubt singer will attempt to create a music video during the four-minute commercial break at some point during the award shows broadcast. Gwen Stefani will star in the video as well as produce, with the finished product then being posted on Vevo as the official music video to her single, Make Me Like You, from her upcoming album This Is What the Truth Feels Like; the long-awaited follow-up to her 2006’s solo album, The Sweet Escape.
Stefani made the announcement on Instagram that she is partnering up with Target, as she attempts this never before seen feat, which will involve numerous sets, multiple real-time costume changes as well as hinted guest appearances.
In a press release, the singer explains that, “Target has an incredible legacy of creating unexpected moments in music, and I’m thrilled to be partnering with them to create my new music video on live television next Monday.”
Gwen Stefani has already generated a level of hype for her upcoming album, taking to Twitter on February 9 and releasing the full track list for upcoming LP (in a very Kanye-ish fashion), as well as its cover art. The list features the recently released single, Used to Love You as well as the history setting, Make Me Like You.

Regardless of how this whole endeavour turns out, it is definitely an interesting experiment by the singer, and will hopefully put The Grammys as well as her upcoming album into the spotlight.
Gwen Stefani’s upcoming album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, is set to be released March 18.
