The Dandy Warhols Announce New LP “Distortland”

Legendary alt-rockers The Dandy Warhols have announced that their 9th studio LP Distortland will be dropping on April 8th.

The news follows on closely from the release of leading single You Are Killing Me last week.

Vocalist-guitarist and co-founder Courtney Taylor describes the forthcoming album album as being, “organized like a pop record but still has the sonic garbage still in there.”

If Taylor’s observations and You Are Killing Me are anything to go by, fans can expect more of the group’s chunky guitar riffs and catchy pop hooks on their latest helping.

The album is the first new music released by the group since 2012′s This Machine.

Founded in Portland in 1994, the group built their signature sound around garage, Britpop and a hint of shoegaze. Perhaps immortalised equally as much for their longstanding feud with Anton Newcombe of neo-psych outfit The Brian Jonestown Massacre, the band are best known for delivering seminal 90’s anthems Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth and Bohemian Like You

The Dandy Warhols were recently in Australia for 2015’s Splendour in the Grass.
