TLC Reveal Details On Comeback Album

The two surviving members of beloved ’90s R&B trio TLC, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, have now announced details of their highly anticipated comeback album, which was successfully crowdfunded after the group launched a fundraising campaign last year.

Last year, TLC crowdfunded $US430,000, a staggering success, considering they had only aimed to raise $US150,000. The Atlanta-based duo have now revealed more details about their upcoming fifth album, which will be their first since 2002. 3D was released seven months after the death of third member Lisa Left Eye Lopes, who was tragically killed in a car crash in Honduras.

Ron Fair, an executive producer tied to the project, has hinted that the album will feature “old soul music” among other things. In an interview with Renman Music & Business Live, he explained, “It’s ’90s throwback music. It’s vintage TLC and I can tell you that their vocals sound exactly the way they did the last time you heard them.”

“Their artistic and vocal thing is 100 percent intact so this is gonna become a question of what are they talking about, what are the lyrics, what are the beats they’ve chosen. And I’m very excited for the world to hear.”

A release date is not yet available, but keep an eye on this page for more information as soon as we hear it.
