It’s happened, guys. It’s happened. The day is here and whilst we weren’t expecting it, it just feels so right, you know? This is the mash up we need AND deserve. David Bowie‘s Moonage Daydream and The Notorious B.I.G‘s Dead Wrong finally together in one glorious mash up, and we are just so happy it exists.
The tributes for the late David Bowie have been coming thick and fast since his passing earlier this week, and whilst everyone grieves and mourns a little differently, this one is definitely up there with one of the best (not that we’re judging…) Coming from Terry Urban, the same man that brought up FKA Biggie (a mash up of FKA twigs and Biggie), he’s now tried his hand at honouring Bowie, and the results are pretty god damn perfect.
Featuring that iconic opening to Moonage Daydream where Bowie declares he’s an “alligator” and a “mama-papa coming for you” looped until Biggie’s hard hitting rhymes come in over the searing guitar. It works so well it feels like this was just meant to happen. Listen here:
