Missy Higgins, Hot Dub Time Machine & Workaholics Added To The Spectrum NOW Lineup

Late last year, details Sydney Morning Herald’s Spectrum NOW Festival were released. Now, organisers have announced a few new additions to the already impressive lineup. Joining the previously announced artists will be award winning Australian singer-songwriter Missy Higgins, the non-stop party that is  Hot Dub Time Machine and the all round hilarious dudes from Workaholics. Seeing as the whole shebang is being curated by the good people behind Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival, you’re pretty much guaranteed that the entire event is gonna be tight.

Speaking about the event, Missy Higgins said that she’s “very excited and honoured to be closing the Spectrum Now Festival. From the ornate décor of the Big Top to the incredible line-up it’s hosting, I reckon it’s going to be one of the best festivals around this summer.” Considering that aside from music, there’s going to be more food than you can possibly eat, heaps of artwork to gawk at, makeovers to be had thanks to Tony Vacher from Sterling Hairdressing Parlour & Barbershop and even the opportunity for some more permanent options with tattoos from LDF Tattoo’s Les Rice, we’re inclined to agree with her.

Spectrum NOW will be a one-off event for Hot Dub Time Machineas they play the best party songs from 1954 to 2016 in strict chronological order with huge accompanying visuals. Comedy Central will be staging its first-ever Australian live shows with Comedy Central Presents: A Night of Stand Up with The Workaholics and Special Guests, which will feature Blake Anderson, Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck.

In addition to the newcomers to the lineup, it has been announced that The Jesus And Mary Chain will play their seminal debut album Psychocandy in its entirety to mark its 30 year anniversary exclusively at the event.
