Gucci Mane, rapper and jailbird, is set to shed one of those titles this March, with confirmation that the rumours circling around his release are true.
Gucci Mane has been incarcerated since September 30th 2013, on numerous charges, but is now set to be released sometime in March as confirmed by XXL earlier today who reached out to Gucci Mane’s people in order to put to rest the circulating rumours about the rappers possible release date.
In the last 24 hours, there has also been reported speculation about Gucci Mane’s social media accounts being deleted, with both his Twitter and Instagram accounts disappearing without any warning.
With news of the rappers release, it has become clear that this was simply a calculated step in order to insure a certain level of controlled hype.
Gucci Mane’s right-hand man, Sean Paine, confirmed this speculation, stating to Pigeons and Planes that it was Gucci Mane’s idea and that he “wants to wait until he gets out to build anticipation and resurface everything under the new Gucci brand.”
Although the rapper has been incarcerated since 2013, he has released a stream of albums and mix-tapes, with one being dropped just in time for Christmas last year.
With Gucci Mane working wonders behind bars, it will be interesting to see just how much he will be able to do once he is a free man.
